I had to reinstall windows 7 and the resolution of the monitor is terrible, Tried going into screen resolution which is set at 640 X 480 but I don't seem to have option to change , use hardward default setting is displayed in Monitor tab but no option to change, even the text looks terrible,
Can I reset the Dell computer some how back to factory setting maybe that would help, tks

You might need to reinstall display drivers. Go to the Dell website and with the service code from the sticker on the computer, download all of the required drivers.

You'll more than likely require the drivers but check by right clicking on your desktop and selecting Screen Resolution, in that screen check that the resolution isn't set to a lower resolution than is available - 1280 x 1024 is what you should be looking to set it to if that option is available.

If not then you'll be needing the drivers from Dells site
