    Hey folks,
So I'm looking for a simple vertical multi game board for the JAMMA cab at work. A vertical game set would be best I think for the game selection. For the number of games, just need a few classics really.

    Any suggestions?

60-in-1 is good, I've bought them from China before can't go wrong at $36 + shipping :)

The new 412-in-1 is supposed to be good as well but I've tried it out yet.

A group buy might be an option to spread the shipping costs :)

iCades - the problem I've seen with them is the way which the game exits when you use up your credits, back to the main menu. Anyone have one here? Any way of not having that feature?

A Google later and found the 'ArcadeSD' board - basically a multi board which you put the supported/compatible ROMs on. Expensive but the menu system doesn't suck as much.

I dont think it happens on free play.

Twin trackballs seems to be the only difference between the 2?
    or am I missing something.

You can disable all games bar the ones you want.
Which is nice.I had one before but sold it with a cab.
The high scores save but your initials dont.shame

The ArcadeSD board is regularly discussed on J+. Ya the menu is much nicer and the emulation 'supposed' to be better then the 60-in-1, the developer does release updates to add new games every so often but personally I think I way to expensive for what it is and not without its own problems.

The type 'A' 60-in-1 is a much older design with better emulation but no longer made so bit more sought after I think. The type 'B' is a cheaper knock off :)

I've probably bought 10 of those type 'B' boards from them and never had a problem with the quality of the boards.

Cool, whats your take on the whole 'back to main menu' feature? Can it be disabled or does it happen in free play?

Ya it always bounces back to the main menu when the game ends so no continues. Shouldn't happen if only one game is enabled though for a dedicated cab.

Is it really that big of an issue?

I'm fairly anal when it comes to running PCBs/originals on my cabs and this has never bothered me with the 60 in 1 boards.

There's some fairly naff menu music, but it can be disabled through dip :)

I read that as it can't be disabled so :)

I dont think you have much choice in multiboards.
as far as i can tell all the others are pure cack.
the 161/1 neogeo one is good tho.
except theres a **** ton of king of fighters and no league bowling.

How would you navigate through 60 games with no menu though? :D

There is one way of kind of disabling it. In the dip menu you can switch games on and off. If you only have one game switch on, that's the only one that boots. It acts like an original game PCB.

Yeah those Neo Geo multi boards are another good solution alright.

Thanks for the insights folks - I'm staying away from a Neo-Geo setup as I've had a total of 3 Neo-Geo main boards break on me in the past year. Memory issues and more. Might be down to the voltage levels in the cab and the funky step-down that the UK lad (Jeff?) bunged in.

Ciderman will build you a nice Mame setup if you ask nicely :)

Already have a setup, which I think Cider copied and then customised more. Its for a work game room so having something that people can't break is important. Thanks again

Eeek! Neo geo boards are usually known as being very hardy. I'd be checking the voltages on the PSU in that cab. Have you checked the +5v just to be sure? Might be too high and frying chips.

I remember reading that stock AWSD PSUs are very unreliable and are changed out in most cases. Would be worth seeing if you still have a factory one in there.
