I am looking for reviews from anyone who has played any of the following in Spain:

    Atalaya Old course
    Cabopino
    Alcaidesa Links
    Alcaidesa Heath
    San Roque New
    Santa Maria
    Dona Julia

    Thanks.

I was there in September and we played Atalaya Old and San Roque off your list.

Atalaya Old is a nice track. It is relatively short with wide fairways which is not a bad thing after a late night. :p

San Roque New couldn't be more different and is a great test. It is long with narrow fairways and lightning fast greens although it does open up a bit more on the back 9. A day to leave the Pro V1s in the bag. ;)
It was in great condition when we played it which was a surprise as we had played the San Roque Old a few days before and it is was in terrible condition.

The other course we played was Valle Romano which I highly recommend and was the best of the 4 courses we played. I have never seen a course in such good condition. Not a blade of grass out of place. It is hilly in places so would be a struggle in the heat without a buggy.
Some online reviewers complain about apartments surrounding the course but that is part and parcel of playing the newer Spanish courses these days.

    Hi Paul,
Thanks for that. We played Valle Romano a few years ago - very windy that day. I recall one great downhill par 4 - I think we all ended up in the same bunker left fairway. We're staying in Estepona this time so are looking to play some of the courses further south. Enjoyed Flamingos last year. Budget won't stretch to Valderama!!!

    Terry
