Freesat + Remote Control Problems

    I got a Sandstrom SHDFSAT12 Freesat + box about a year ago and we have always had problems with the remote control. Often the remote would become non-responsive and I would need to reset the box to factory defaults to get it working again.

    I have reset the box again this time but still can not get the remote working. Anyone have any experiences with these boxes? I have checked all the usual suspects including fresh batteries in the remote, making sure nothing is blocking the box etc...

    The current situation is that the factory default setup screen is showing but I can't go any further as there are few buttons on the box and none of them appear to navigate the menu. Remote is still dead but when testing the remote pointing it at the phone camera it appears to be working.

    Warranty is out BTW, this was an ebay purchase

    Any ideas?
