As the title states, would this be a suitable replacement for my crappy existing Eircom Zyxel P-660HW router?
I have a number of items connected to the existing router including
    Network switches
    Microserver running 24/7
    Laptop hardlined to router
    Roku box
    Raspberry Pi
Various other laptops, tablets and phones
I am finding that I need to reboot the router once a day now so I want to replace it with a proper router.
I also live in an old house with thick stone walls so I need a router that will have good reception throughout the house if possible.

Yes that's an excellent replacement, hugely better for performance. Also, your connection settings in case you don't know them are:

    VPI: 8
    VCI: 35
    Multiplex: LLC
    Encapsulation / Type: PPPoE
    Username: eircom@eircom.net
    Password: broadband1

Just a thought but have you any prospect of upgrading to efibre in the near future? If so maybe a separate router would be a better buy.

Meant to reply last night but couldn't. I'm afraid fibre is not an option for me in the near future for I live in a place which is actually 76.345 miles south and to the left of the ar$ehole of beyond so unless P(h)at Rabbitte is willing to come out with the cable himself, I will be stuck with regular old broadband for the foreseeable future:D

It's an ADSL router so it's compatible with Eircom's older technology that we both have. If eFiber (VDSL) comes to your area, you'll have to use the router they supplied, but you said that won't be happening anytime soon.

It's a wireless N which means the signal is much better than the wireless G you and I both have (same router, I actually like the router). You'll also get great speeds from your wireless as stated in the video below:
