    Hi all,

I have a builder saying he can replace my gutters for €600.

great for me, ive just bought and money is tight.

Im in a drimnagh typical 2 bedroom old style council build if you know the ones that are so common around the crumlin/drimnagh area. the gutters at present - at least whats left of them! are the old metal type ones.

I think he wants to fit just the guttering bit, there wont be the soffity bit or anything fancy on it.

am i throwing my money away?
Is there any point to this?
should i pay more, will i get much more or is this something i can do for 600 quid now and revisit in 10 years time?

    Thanks all

Your eaves (fascia/soffit) are possibly/probably mass concrete, so the 'soffity bit' is possibly not required and/or not much point in cladding the concrete in PVC (no point to it).

If your gutters are leaking, then they should be fixed or replaced as water running down the walls will do nothing good. E 600 sounds reasonable.

Right so i should go for it. Thanks for that.

If anyone else wants to add something, be my guest!

Also, can anyone better that price on a semi detached house!

50 cent to a euro would be ideal!!!!

Can OP confirm is fascia and soffit in concrete as per DOCARCH comment above or is it timber.
Also OP needs to provide length of gutter approximately and downpipe to see if it is good value or not.
