    Hi,

    Looking at buying a 2nd hand car but not so sure what to get.

    Have a 00 Avensis that I've had for 8 years and it never gave a day's bother but needs quite a bit of work done to it.

    Average daily mileage would be 40 miles max. Looks like I will have some trips down the country with work (circa 300 miles return once a week).

    Max I will spend is 8-10k. Was thinking of something like an Octavia or Passat but am open to suggestions.

    Would really appreciate any suggestions people may have.
