Shed planning permission

    Hi I'm looking to build a shed to store classic cars and storage I'd be looking to go storey and a half for general storage upstairs too I'd be looking to build about 8 meters x 5 meters and probably 6 and a half meters high I would be replacing a ramshackle shed of four parts wich is already existing would I need planning permission to do this work I live I kildare

    Yes you would need to have planning permission for this.

    As above, planning required. Car ports are usually exempt, but they must be behind the building line, and max of 4m high with pitch roof, 3m with flat roof, and obviously all other conditions satisfied, such as no more than 25sq. M etc

    Yes you would need to have planning permission for this.

    What would happen if I built it I'm never goin to sell house and neighbours said go ahead and possibly look for retention afterwards

    You can go ahead no problem.
    Neighbours may contact the LA anonymously behind your back.

    Enforcement Dept will force you into retention.
    Poccibility that the LA will refuse the retention and enforce its removal.

    All risk based, be cheaper with no risk to go for standard planning permission.
