Any driver would do that run but you would need to negotiate a price before hand.

You would be better off contacting a driver directly. If you wish, I could get you a quote from a buddy of mine.

That trip would be horrifically expensive, youd find it far cheaper renting a car with the added benefits.

Yes please get me a quote. for single and return.

I'm going to die laughing here, but honest truth, according to :

    http://www.transportforireland.ie/taxi/taxi-fare-estimator/

the fare will be about three fiddy! pacman.gif

Actually 300-350 depending on traffic and time of day.

Should be able to negotiate a lower rate directly though.

    And that is one way!

I will ring my buddy and ask him. Could it be possible for a friend to come up and collect you and you could throw them some petrol money?

That's probably the best price you could get from a private operator.

Ok buddy. As previously mentioned by the other poster. I dont think you realise the cost of that. I checked the transport website and got 300 to 350. ONE WAY.

I just rang my buddy and he is a proper licenced, insured, taxi driver with a newish mondeo. He came down to 200 euro EACH way.

Are you sure you cannot take the train????

thanks superscouse for letting me know the best taxi quote. I will ask my family about it or if they can take the minibus which costs 99 euros.

I will let you know if I need your friends taxi service.

I appreciate the help everyone! Many thanks

If you are renting a car for that date you mentioned I would do it as soon as you can as the price will double and possibly tripple for that time of the year as it gets closer to the date.

Both Bus Eireann and Rapid Express buses run from Dublin Airport to Waterford. It'd be around €20 return per person.

    Guys,
How to pay for toll in Ireland? Given if I rent car and car rental drop it at the Dublin airport, how much money should I keep for tolls when I drive from Dublin to Waterford? and then for journey back to Dublin.

There's no toll to pay in cash as you get from Waterford to Dublin toll free.
There's a video toll on the ring road around Dublin but that is often covered by the rental company and billed to you later.
So you won't need to have any change in the car.

You do need to be aware that there is a charge to drop a car at a different station to pickup. I paid 50 euros the last time I did it with enterprise. Just mentioning it as I amn't sure if you had factored that in your calculations.

To be honest, what did you expect to pay in a taxi from the south coast up beyond Dublin?

Road (toll locations, click map for prices)

I would just take the bus from the airport to Waterford city. You can read and relax and not worry about tolls or directions.
Bus Erieann and JJ Kavanagh both do the route.
