Looking for lightweight/windproof fold-up jacket

Just took out my cycling gear for a spin tomorrow and notice that my yellow lightweight Altura jacket has come to the end of its life - zip just broke clean off on testing!

Loved that jacket - just folded into a compact bag that I could stuff into my 2nd Water Bottle holder. Kept me well dry when needed but mainly protected me against the wind when called on.

Any links for any bargains on a similar jacket.....am watching a few on Ebay but they seem to be from Hong Kong (at good prices though).

The DHB Wisp jacket is on sale on Wiggle, 50% off. Looks good value at just under €24, probably €30 with postage or spend another €20 for free post.

have this montane featherlight jacket nearly 18 months now and i swear by it. folds up to nothing, water proof and more breathable than others ive tried (castelli etc)

If you mean that the zip runner broke off, take the jacket to a fabric shop (Hickeys or the like), find a zip that matches yours (see if your jacket will zip up with the new zip), then transfer that runner onto your Altura jacket. You just need to undo the stop at the top of the zip, slide the runner onto your zip and re-fit the stop (it usually just squeezes back on).

got one from tesco 14.99. High viz bright green, very light, folds up very nicely and seem's to do it's work fine.

pearl izzumi barrier jacket is my favourite. the elite series is a bit more generous fit without being baggy and its very light. had a few similar ones down the years but thats been by far my favourite

Endura Pakajak jackets are brilliant. Not cheap but excellent quality, last for years and fold up to a size no larger than your fist.
