Was looking around to see if there was already a thread about this but can't see any.

In a 2 part programme starting next Monday on BBC NI Ian Paisley says that the victims of the bombings "brought it on themselves" by voting for the Irish Government that was in power at the time.

Seems he is still as bitter as he was 30 years ago, Even Peter Robinson has distanced himself from the comments.

It seems that Peter is none too happy about the way big ian has characterised the day trip to Clontibret. According to Peter it was originally Big Ian who was meant to lead the expedition, whereas Big Ian has disavowed the whole enterprise.

Like some files / information during the original investigation. You can blame the coalition government and the Gardaí for that.

I wonder what's behind the thread disappearance?

Does he even know what he does be saying himself these days?

Was wondering the same. Seems a bit at odds with his later years in power. Of course he was always a bitter man.

The only reason that scourge got involved in the peace process was because he saw that a settlement was inevitable.

Seamus Mallon was recounting how the nasty bastard led a mob of 'loyalists' with pickaxe handles to beat the civil rights march he was on to a pulp.

Pretty odd considering he was commenting on the worst day of death on the Island during the troubles.

He's obviously gone gaga, The Irish Government at the time were even more Unionist than he was! Conor Cruise O'Brien made Paisley look republican!

Yeh I despised CCOB way more than Paisley.

At least Paisley is a hardline presbyterian of Scottish stock.

Missed the original documentary and would like to watch it before the 2nd episode tonight. Any links to where the first episode can be watched online? I tried the BBC iPlayer but it won't play as I'm not in the UK :(

    Help??

Paisley is an evil bigot and the sooner the old demagogue pops his clogs the better.
His roaring voice is the last weapon that needs decommissioning.
