Help in valuing a Mercedes coach

I'm helping a friend sell his coach and we're struggling to value it.

It's a 30-seater 05 814 Mercedes Cheetah. It has mileage of 360,000km, power doors, a boot, air conditioning and a cd player. It's in very good condition. Just passed a DOE.

    1) Does anyone know how much it is worth (roughly)?

    2) What is the best website to use to sell it? Lots of them seem to be cars only.

    Thanks for your help.

Normally on a car I say 50% drop every 3 years, can't find the new price for that on Mercedes.ie or .co.uk, that might help as a guide.

I would say 15-20% of the new price of it as a guide.

Coaches depreciate a lot less than cars. Here's an '05 814 Cheetah in the UK asking price £40k - Ref: 4467. Should be worth roughly the same over here I'd have thought.

And an '06 Irish reg one on donedeal for €52k. So I guess your friends coach is indeed worth around the €45k mark

That's a little more than he was thinking so he'll be chuffed with that. Anyone else have an opinion on value?

And what website should he use to sell it here in Ireland - surely not Done Deal?

Obviously in a private sale he would get less than an established dealer selling with warranty, but the figures will give him some ball park to work from

And tbh donedeal is probably the best place to sell his coach. Not sure why you think it isn't?

Donedeal tends to be the best for buying/selling. Pretty much the first website someone would check if they're looking for any kinda of vehicle.
You could post it on Adverts.ie, but tbh it's probably a waste of time. You'll get people offering less then half the asking price on a daily, then trying to justify it with some stupid reason.
Could also list it on gumtree & ebay. Probably not as effective as Donedeal, but it might help.

i know a fella that has a few buses and if hes ever selling them he would mainly use donedeal. but in terms of value id put something of that spec to be around the 40-45k mark

Ya, I'd be going with Done Deal, in the Coaches & Buses section. If they price it properly, then they will be surprised on how fast it could sell. My aim would be mid 40's, leaving a bit of room for haggling. Depends on if they are in any rush selling it!

Or offering to "swap" you their rusting pile of scrap, or any other rubbish they can't get rid of.

If going with Done Deal though make sure you get a PAYG disposable phone and be prepared for plenty of time-wasting, dreamers and make sure you're very clear that this is a PRIVATE sale with no warranty included - the amount of threads we see here where buyers wreck the car and then try to get a refund from the seller is ridiculous.

Not at all...I just never realised Done Deal was used for large sales. I assumed there would be a website that specialises in larger vehicles.

    Thanks for the help.

Done deal, autotrader, word of mouth, tradeshows (next one here isn't until end of the year though), and ads in coach magazines.

There was a guy I was in contact with a few years ago who was working on a directory listing site for coach operators and also for them to buy/sell. I can't recall the website though. Not sure if it ever came to much.

Quite a lot of the buying and selling would be by word of mouth.

Are they generally quite difficult to sell on Done Deal?
