What's the story with UCPA? Never heard of it before but the price looks really good. Am I right in saying that it includes tuition and ski hire? What about ski passes?

What's Les Duex Alpes like as a resort? What airport are you flying to?

Thanks in advance for the advice!

ucpa is a french non profit organisation thats like an upper class hostel with all inclusive ski/board stuff. I went val disere solo in december and had a ball. the gear was a little bit old for me, but others got brand new stuff. tuition was top class. best ive had. food was amazing. buffet style but all you can eat...

flying to grenoble. 96eur return and getting bens bus down for 56eur. cant wait!

It's a cracking resort and some UPCA hostels are pretty nice like the one in Agintierre

Okay here is my lo down on Les Deux Alpes...

Flight time : About 2 hours you fly from dublin to Grenobal ( small runway with a mad landing) All I can say is jesus what a small airport for the influx of people but well run .

Transfer: We went Cristal-ski which I will scald in a minute about their dirt service.. Transfer was 2:30 mins with some amazing views and mad cliff climbs.

    Arrvival Les Deux Alpes:

The rep was bitching that this was his second airport trip of the day etc ( no violins here ) so the last drop off was beside the Diablo lift and about 25 people got off all going to the same place he points to up the road and said to us your hotel is up there then flys off on the bus ! took us 25 mins to find the place !

Anyways found the place called Mereiva ( think that is how its spelt) .. I would sleep in a ditch so the place did fine to stay in ..

    Slopes:
Wowwwwwwwwwwwwwww loved it up there . some lovely runs and cliff runs plenty for everybody.. At the top you can go under the glacier to a ice cave with cool carvings etc... We had snow fall one or two days so skiing conditions were good and the snow park was a great laugh with the jumps except boarders think they own the place ! trying to queue jump n stuff... dont know how I wasnt arrested .

Food and drink : Jeasusssssssssssssssssssss mary and joseph dont forget your safe when you are going... can of coke can reach a high of €3:50 - lowest price pint i got was €6:00 .. food is nice but pricey but even spar is pricey..

I know the above is brief but I will update later with loads of videos and of me helping skiiers on my blades hehehehehehe

The only thing I bought over there was clip in bindings for my blades which I must say was a steal of a price but clothing is expensive there too ! seen my north face trousers were over €300 and I paid (cough €80 ) in kildare outlet.

Anyways any questions please feel free to ask

Can't believe ppl were giving mixed or poor reviews about this place. Its as good skiing as anywhere I've been. Val disere mayerhofen San Anton...

Loads of side piste for the adventerous intermediates and loads of approaches to the village. Not brilliant for beginners is about the only problem here. Best park I've seen

Due a big dump on Wednesday. Thurs Fri gonna be epic!!
