    Hello,

I am getting a house which is rated BER B2.
I would to set a wet underfloor heating however the concrete is already here and i don't know how much it will cost to dig up to feet the requirement with height.
However I read about UFH which will only size 15mm which is right for a retro fitting.

I was wondering if anybody had experience with that and if is easy to find somebody to install it in ireland :)

    Thanks

There are companies that supply slim wet underfloor heating that doesn't require the existing floor to be dug out. I don't know how they rate in terms of efficiency or longevity though.

    Thanks for the reply,

I know they give 25years warranty..... regarding efficiency that is my question...

For underfloor heating to be efficient you will need to put down new insulation, ideally 100mm, then minimum screed on this is 35-40mm so you would be raising your floor level by 140mm + floor covering. this would most likely result in door heads need to be lifted, not to mention loosing it off your ceiling height.

I dont know what the costs would be, but if you are going to the trouble of retrofitting underfloor heating there is no point cutting corners, you need to to it to the highest standard.

I have seen UFH retrofits that have worked very well, but there is a lot of design and work involved
