    Would you be ashamed to have your details published in the paper for not paying tax/rates/tv license?

    I wouldn't. The only shame/regret I would feel was the fact I got caught.

    It's what differentiates skangers from decent citizens. One group has nothing to lose from being caught cheating the system and the 2nd group could actually lose the ability to provide for themselves and pay taxes if caught doing anything illegal

    theft is the taking of another person's property without that person's permission or consent, with the intent to deprive the rightful owner of it.

    Not paying for the TV licence does none of those things

    Hang on.... Isnt the tv license fee being turned into a "broadcasting charge“? A blanket tax taken from our wages/ dole like the social charge so that if someone doesnt want to pay they may leave the country?

    And the onus is on them to be PUBLIC SERVICE BROADCASTERS. Not lying lapdogs for the government.

    No, I have never paid the TV licence(for 17 years) I'll avoid it as long as possible, I don't watch RTE anyway it's ****e and there is no way I'm paying for that crap.
