3D televisions where you have to wear special glasses to get the 3D effect. I can barely find the remote for my tele, never mind looking for bloody glasses to put on to watch the news.

*True* Imax 3D is astonishing though but that a million miles from the excuse for 4D we see in the cinema each week.

Watched Wimbledon last year on active 3D and was very impressed.

Was like having two little morphs in my sitting room playing tennis.

Passive 3D is useless though, just like Cinema 3D.

...it's only when you duck behind a sneeze guard that you know you've a top of the range set.

What I can't understand is the curved screen thing...wtf is the point?

It is for the jizz to deflect away from the user if one is not wearing a condom watching porn.

Very valid question. Today's Grauniad sums it up like this:
These screens, it's claimed, “wrap around you” and “provide a uniquely immersive viewing experience”. The reality is that the curved shape comes with some significant drawbacks and very little, if any, benefit to the viewer.

    Edit: Wikihow's answer is better...

That is coming as standard in 4D tele. ;)

    Agree, OP.

The picture quality and surround sound might be great but when the story's standard one size fits all Hollywood crapola or the latest samey tedious superhero blockbuster yawn, then what difference does it make?

I'm currently downloading IMAX under the sea 3D and can't wait to watch it.
