Cant get insured.

Hi all. I got a free car of the girlfriends aunt last week. Its a jap import automatic. Its like a yaris but its called a Toyota Duet. When Im online getting quotes and go to put the reg num in, the system does not recognize the car. Cartell comes up with this :

Vehicle
Registration 00D114040
Make TOYOTA
Model DUET
Description M100A 5DR A
Engine Capacity (cc) 989

It has been off road for a few months. When I ring the insurance companies its the same problem. Anyone any suggestions?

Don't ring a call centre, speak to somebody in local branch or brokers.

Yea done all that and they said they can not find the car details. Rang NCT and they said they said NCT was due since sept. Its a mad looking car never seen one like it before.

if you get quotes for a daihatsu sirion its much more likely to be on the system. doesn't really help you getting insured overall though, sorry.

The plot thickens. She was insured by Zurich, however website can not find the car. I have found one company that found the car on line xsdirect.ie, however there a bit steep. I've spent about 2 hours ringing around, its getting frustrating now at this point!

Finally got insurance sorted. Took AXA two days two days to find car, but were sorted!

I got this letter of xsdirect don't think you'll get insured off them either.
