    Hi

I'm now taking entries for the Midleton 200km Audax.

Event details (including entry form and payment details):- Here

Map of Route The route will generally be the same as the last few years, though its hoped to move the return leg from Youghal back off the N25 to more, err, "picturesque" lanes.

    2012 Boards thread

    2013 thread (not as exciting!)

Please note that there is a 50 rider limit for this and last year's event was oversubscribed.

If you have any queries, please let me know and I'll try and respond as quickly as possible.

Hi I'm just wondering what bike to use for this event if my entry is accepted. I'm currently riding a alu frame winter bike. But any 200k spins I've done to date have been ridden on a carbon frame bike.

    Hi Muckers

Whatever bike you're comfortable with. The event will see all sorts - steel, carbon, aluminium, with and without mudguards, drop and straight handlebars. Bear in mind that the event is in early March so the chances of it being wet at some point during the day are high - if your winter bike has mudguards, it might be a more comfortable option in those conditions. (Personally, I use my winter bike for the event)

Remember, as it is a 200km in March, with some long climbs and no mechanical support, lights are mandatory. That may also have a bearing on your decision.

If you're planning to enter, please do so immediately - I'm about to close entries as the limit has been reached.
