    Hi can someone recommend a way to convert a movie that's in mp4 format so that it will play on laptop or be burned to a disc.thanks

    Have you got Klite codec pack installed on the laptop.

    Google it and download. Invaluable for playing all manner of video files. Alternatively you could download VLC media player (again excellent) or Quicktime (which I personally loathe, and also apparently doesn't play all mp4 files).

    Thanks I will give it a go . Also this is embarrassing but I am replying to you on a new phone and I'm pretty sure I reported this post instead of replying to it and don't know if or how I can undo it so sorry
