In fairness, I moved down south in 05, and it took me 8 years to get on this for a day out (Australian relatives visiting)

Very very VERY fun couple of hours out with them.

    I highly recommend them. :D

The free advertising is probably worth the clamping fine.

Do clamps not have steel chains running through them? Looks like it's a 'clamp' just resting against the wheel.

Yeah, just someone being 'hilarious' I reckon.

Yes I reckon a set up for publicity on this one. I saw a coach clamped in town that had the same size wheels and the triangular part of the clamp is massive, like twice the size of the normal clamps.

I don't think that's real at all. Also why on Earth did the Irish Independent deem this as newsworthy?

Oh it's not a set up the Dukw was actually clamped. The funny part of it all is the double yellow lines were put on the road to stop people blocking the entrance to their garage.

I don't think it's real either and it seems to be a slow news day from the looks of the headlines in the papers this morning.

It's often a slow news day for the Indo, so.

No chance you would get me on one of them now to be honest.

Gone out of business in Liverpool. Was nearly going to go on the tour on the day of the first sinking in Liverpool but thought would leave it till another time cos it was freezing that day.

I went on one in Dublin a few years ago, it was great craic if not a bit embarrassing (for me) with all the screaming going on, but it was funny, enjoyable and informative.

Have you ever got on a plane / car / boat before?

In fairness they could've parked for free in the Liffey, like to see the clampers clamp that.

Of course but I would be very hesitant if I knew another fleet had been put out of action by the powers that be for safety issues.

I used to hate those tours, going around annoying people and looking cringe-worthy.
But i had friends visiting and they asked if we could do it and i must say it was a lot of fun. Shouting aside, the tour is informative and the guide can be very very funny. They are great for kids but they don't forget the adults either. I would highly recommend

there's no double yellows to be seen there. It's obviosuly a parking zone (and publicity stunt)

Part of tourism is to have fun. If people are on holidays they like to let their hair down a shout a little and make ejits of themselves in a capital city.

To keep people's attention away from what is going on in the real world.

Why would a newspaper want to do that?

Ah in fairness, they got shut down more to do with financial issues than safety (from your article)

Besides, because one from in Liverpool didn't maintain theirs properly shouldn't reflect badly on all these vehicles.

Seriously, great laugh, great couple of hours going through Dublin.

(I've zero affiliation with Dublin splash tours btw)
