    How much is that though?

I think it's still E3.50, not too sure though. Probably worth emailing to ask, but I know they have provisions for large packages.

I noticed parcel motel have a optional extended liability. Its 7€ for cover for €1000 worth and lasts 14 days. Id recommend going for that if using them. I don't know about size but even if they do, id still be a bit iffy using them for an expensive TV.

Nobody seems to read about dimensional weight. I'm guessing it will be approx 120x80x25 which gives a delivery cost of €42 (If you collect at depot). Standard oversize charge was raised to €7 a while ago and every 10kg over 35kg is now €7 instead of €3.50 as well. Maybe deliverme.ie is cheaper on this occasion...

I agree, I just got an eliza chair delivered from amazon and the weight was 21kg, but it was packaged pretty well and the dimensional weight was 52kg which cost me about 21 euro. They dropped it down to the cork depot for free and I had the option of delivery for a tenner.
I'd get the extended warranty as a boardsie here had his tv smashed using parcel motel!
On the phone to them, they told me that parcel was not set up for such big items.

As far as I know, UK TVs that are set up for Freeview HD (as this one is) will be be OK for Saorview.

If you're bothered with the 3D, this TV requires active glasses which will set you back between £20 and £50 each. It doesn't look like you get any glasses with it.

or, if you weren't bothered with 3D (and it really is just a gimmick for the most part) but want a 50" TV then save yourself £300 and just get one of these Finelux 50" 1080p LED TV's for £389: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Finlux-50F6090-Full-HD-1080p-Freeview/dp/B00GMM1RFC/

Add an Android TV dongle to "smart" it up a bit for </> £50 for a decent one and you're sorted.

not going to compete with a top end samsung or LG, but looks to be decent enough and for that kind of money a real bargain for a 50" 1080p LED.

i'd avoid using parcel motel for such big and delicate items tbh

i got a pressure washer delivered with them once and the box was in bits so it has been bashed around.

i can only imagine if something like a flatscreen was in that box what it would have happened..

it's not really fair from them to say it wasn't set up for that purpose. if that's the case they should refuse to take large items in completely

I got an oversized parcel delivered to Parcel Motel in N.I. recently, I asked Parcel Motel / Nightline to forward the parcel to the Cork Nightline depot which they promply did. I collected the large parcel 5 weeks ago and my credit card still hasn't been charged a cent. :D

How recent was this? I think the charges changed from November. Before that the standard charge covered any parcel with a (dimensional or actual) weight of <35kg. So it was either that or you got lucky...

That TV gets great reviews but if you have a bright room this is like a mirror apparently.

I think I got lucky - it was 2 weeks before Christmas so they were probably very busy.
