Just wondering if anyone knew if it would be possible to get checks cashed in a new name? I'm starting a job that involves my employer being overseas and me handling any business he has over here. So would it even be possible for me to get cheques cashed in my new name even though i have yet to get my finalised deed poll or even have time to get documents changed?

Perhaps your employer could make you a signatory on his existing account and then update the details afterwards, if necessary.

Otherwise, many banks are quite awkward and rigid these days, so it might be best to contact the relevant bank staff and ask them about their own procedures and how best to deal with them.

That sounds horribly like a money laundering scam.
