Sump Plug Washer

Just wondering if anyone can throw any light on this for me...
I changed the oil in my daughters 2000 yaris (1 Litre Petrol) a couple of times but the last time I did it the Sump Plug Washer disintegrated when the Sump Plug was removed.

It was a Sunday if I remember correctly so no shops open.

I emptied the oil and cleaned the sump and sump plug and re fitted the plug onto the disintegrated washer which I had patched up with gasket maker.

Luckily it held up well and never needed attention.

I am going to change the oil again and looked online for a washer but none looked like the original even though it stated they were.

My wife picked up two from our local Toyota dealership for a 2000 Yaris but when I look at them they look nothing like the original washer.

As far as I recall the original Sump Plug Washer was some type of (bevelled/angled/contoured) hard plastic ring.

These washers from the Toyota Dealer are a fibre type.

Has anyone any experience of a 2000 Toyota Yaris Sump plug Washer and what type it should be...?

Any info/input much appreciated as I don't want to be arguing with the parts dept. at Toyota unless I am 100% sure. If I am sure of my facts I have no problem arguing with anyone.......

Perhaps I am just doubting myself (I'm sure it was plastic) because of the time lapse since I last did it. Damn it I should have got one shortly after, while it was still fresh in my head.........

    Thanks in advance.......................:)

Last couple I got from Toyota were all fibre type for 3 different Toyota models, none were Yaris though.

Some are copper some are fibre, its not really an issue as long as they do what they are supposed to do. Seal the bolt from leaking oil while tightened.
Copper has probably become too expensive for things like oil pan washers hence the move to fibre.

Cheers, although I was sure the old one was neither copper nor fibre but some kind of plastic.

I suppose I could use the fibre ones and keep an eye on it.
    Thanks......................:)
