    hello,

Anyone know anywhere you can go for a beer tasting session/course for a couple of hours on a saturday in Dublin?

I was thinking more lesson type thing as opposed to sitting at a bar going through the craft beer menu :D

    Thanks

    "beer appreciation course"

I have no idea what the course is like and not affiliated with them in any shape or form.

Geoff in 57 The Headline used to run them when he was at the Bull and Castle so you could maybe try there.

Or you can buy me pints and I will bore the ear off you talking about craft beer. :pac:

I second Geoff in The Headline. He is doing beer and whiskey tasting sessions on request.

Sweeney's in Phibsborough do them for groups.

The Offie formerly known as Oddbins on Baggot Street do the odd one as do Deveney's. I'd suggest the Headline as well but to be honest, any of the craft specialist bars will give you a heads up on what to look out for.

Did Probus down on Fenian Street do something last year? Or was that just meet the brewer type stuff?

I believe Probus do tastings as well as meet-the-brewer events. I've definitely seen people at them there, though one was on Guinness Man's day so perhaps it was a special event.

I've been to a beer tasting in Probus (beer and cheese actually), was good craic. The two lads are sound and know their stuff. They said they do them frequently enough but said we could ring any time and they'd have no problem arranging one specifically either.

So I'd say give them a ring or drop in and they'll set something up for you.

Another one here for Probus, they tend to have them on a Thursday evening but can do them on request for groups. Been to a few tastings there.
If you follow their Facebook page they normally give a heads up on what they are concentrating on that week.
    Sound lads in there.
