Well folks I have two cows calving down in late march to this BA bull. Both are LMxSh second calvers. Has anyone had any experience with him? Thanks for reading! http://b-static.net/vbulletin/images/smilies/cool.png

I used him once a few years ago on a BBxSM heifer. Outstanding calf, was a very tight pull, but it was becasue of the BB in the heifer. i have tried to get friends of mine who breed show calves to use him on their BB cows.

Did the calf come into good money?

Did it end out looking like a BB pig type thing?

I am sorry, I just cant take to the look of a Belgian Blue! They look hard shipped!

11.5% calving difficulty, wish I knew ICBF existed before that fabled day 19/6/13 haha

The calf was average sized but the heifer had a BB pelvis - so it was a very tight pull. Kept the calf on and sold her as a store heifer at ~ 2Yrs. she came into €1300, but this price was unheard of at the time (6 years ago). She had the size of the BA and the muscle of the BB - not pigish but stylish.

    You are a gent thanks.

My two heifers (2nd calvers on this calf) have good square pelvic regions with no muscle there, plenty of milk though! Should be fine please God!

I like a Lim Sh cow. We havent used PTA but have used several other BA bulls. I'd be very surprised if they don't pop them out, nice and handy. In fact I'd nearly put money on it! The BA should bring a nice shapey calf not too heavy in the bone.

The girlfriends father had 4 2 year old heifers calf to him this year without any bother. Got well paid for them too but they were out of Charolais and came the right colour with a good fleece of hair.
