Hi can anyone help, I had freesat installed in my house and had a router to connect it to the rest of my tvs. Have since bought a new tv where the main system is plugged into. But can only get my saorview channels on my main tv and can still receive the free sat in the other rooms. Have tried everything to get it back on the new tv but to no avail. Hate to call out tv man as he will charge me an arm and a leg for two minutes work. Any suggestions please:)

Is the satellite receiver located beside the main TV? If so you can connect it via HDMI.

Or is it remotely located & the 'router' is a UHF modulator & distribution system, in which case you would tune in the satellite services via the TV's analogue tuner.

Or some other kind of distribution system?

It is located beside the main tv followed the tv manuals programme of adding an external device through scart, think I will try going through the analogue system first as thats how it was originally set up. Thanks for the help from a fellow Monaghan person. Cheers!!!!

HDMI will deliver the best picture quality: it's the only way you will get high-definition pictures.

Any self-respecting modern satellite receiver & TV will have HDMI connections.

There is definitely a HDMI connection so hopefully that will sort it, would be better off investing in another HDMI cable than using the analogue system for picture quality .

Didnt want to start a new thread, so thought i might ask here.
I'm looking at getting Walker WP95SAT-HD box into a new place i just moved in to. I'm a total thicko when it comes to this stuff, so what needs to be in place for this to work/pick up the stations ?

    Thanks

A satellite dish pointing at 28 degs. east. If there's an existing Sky dish on the property that'll do the job. No Irish channels are available with this box - satellite only, you'll require a Saorview TV or combi (satellite/terrestrial) set top box connected to an aerial to get these to get these e.g. http://www.powercity.ie/?par=10-23-WP645TS&pages=1&prod=WP645TS&brands=walker&image=

I presume it is a dual satellite and terrestrial receiver. You need a satellite dish compatible with Sky, and/or a UHF aerial depending wether you want Saorview or free to air satellite channels first. You are better off contacting a local tv expert. You find it in the Golden Pages or drop down to your local tv hifi shop. If there is an aerial or a dish installed already you should be able to tap into them.

It would work for Saorsat. Could be miller82's only option for free Irish channels, for all we know.

    It's satellite-only. Don't presume: look it up.

Yes, the receiver is Saorsat approved. I think miller82 isn't sure what options are availble at that property

Do you already own this receiver? Do you want the Irish channels? Maybe your TV can handle this side of things via Saorview terrestrial reception? Post the make & model here if you're not sure.

You can check for Saorview coverage here: http://www.saorview.ie/get-saorview/make-the-switch/coverage-map/

The map wouldn't be infallible & any 'challenging' locations should be checked out 'on the ground'.
