Family sun holiday during October midterm?

    Hi,
    Thinking of going on a family holiday during October midterm. Kids will be 4.5 and 7.
    We'd like:
    somewhere warm where we can go to the beach & pool
    A nice prom/large footpath by the beach for strolling
    cafes, restaurants & bars along the beach
    not trashy (even though at that time of year it might be quiet)

    Accommodation- ideally self catering apartment within walking distance of the beach. Or a resort by the beach. I'm leaning towards self catering apartment as you have a kitchen and two bedrooms. In many hotels you pay a fortune for family suite.

    The Canaries seem to be an obvious choice but anyone have any recommendations of locations and specifically resorts/apartments etc/

    We love Gran Canaria at that time of the year. Near Maspalomas - lots of resorts there and walking distance to the beach, bars and shops but far enough away from the madness of Playa D'Ingles

    Costa Teguise in lanzarote ticks all your boxes.

    Fairly lively, but very family friendly resort.

    Although I haven't stayed there, the Sands Beach resort is highly spoken of.
