    We are just working or some details on spec etc for a new house my brother is hoping to build.
    I have a quick query re wall build up for attic rooms.
    It will likely be along the lines of
    roof felt
    air gap
    rigid insulation between rafters
    counter battened for further insulation
    air tightness membrane
    Slab

    does the airtightness membrane act as vapour barrier? Do we use a foil backed slab in this case?
    Alternative setup might exclude the counter batten and use an insulated slab. Similar question re that setup?
