i-Parcel customs clearance coming from the UK?

    I thought coming from the UK there were no customs involved? This is what the tracking has said over the past few days, seems a bit off:

    Consolidation Arrived - Pending Customs Clearance and inbound scan 2014-01-07T00:00:00-05:00 IE

    Exported i-Parcel and in transit to country of destination 2014-01-06T08:29:00-05:00 Surrey GB

    Received at i-Parcel 2014-01-05T14:20:29-05:00 Surrey GB
    Your shipmenti has been flagged for review of the contents prior to export 2013-12-28T12:50:36-05:00 Surrey GB

    Package details received electronically from Seller 2013-12-28T12:50:32-05:00

    It's something from Amazon so it's nothing dodgy I should hope.

    Do you order any alcohol or tobacco products as there is excise duty payable on those? If not it is probably just a spot check.

    Nope, all was good. It actually came in the end, but was delivered by Fastway instead of i-Parcel, so that's probably what the deal was.
