Mould in Stand Alone Cube Storage Units

    Hi, Putting this here as I cannot see anywhere that suits.

    Bought 5 Stand Alone Cube Storage (5 ft high)Units last year for the Children's Play room and placed up against skirting with back to exterior wall. Recently noticed mouldy smell in room and found to my amazement mould up along the back of all the Cube Storage Units . The strange thing was that there was no mould on the floor that the Units sat on or the wall or skirting they were up close against . On the units themselves the Mould started about 2 inches up from the base of the Units and finished about 4 foot up from the base of the units . There was no mould anywhere else in the room on any wall or piece of furniture .

    I am at a loss as to where this came from , I could understand if it was on the wall and crept onto the Units but I could not find it anywhere . Was wondering if the mould had been in the MDF itself when I purchased it and did not appear until now . There was a smell off the units when I was putting them together but thought this had been that they were in the packaging for a while.
