Albufeira is nice, handy for shopping, bars etc. but it will very busy in June. They do have that mini train that goes around though, which I'm sure your daughter would love.

Have you thought about Alvor or Praia da Vau? They are both small resorts, close to quieter beaches and a few minutes taxi from Praia da Rocha but don't have the nasty high rises.

They are also both close to Portimao, which has a great market, better than anything you'll find in Albufeira. Alvor has some lovely restaurants and it's very quaint - Cobblestoned streets and small bars, no stags/hens etc.

I don't know anything about Armacao de Pera, so can't comment on it but I always find that no matter where you go in the Algarve, you're never disappointed :) Enjoy

Massive variation in the Algarve. I'd always recommend a car if your planning on going for a week. If you not planning on getting a car somewhere like Alvor may suit. It's nice and quiet and plenty around to keep your daughter occupied.

Will the sea water be warm in June? some people say it will still be a bit chilly..

I have swum there in June and thought the water was lovely. Remember you are swimming in the Atlantic so won't be as balmy as the Mediterranean.

    Enjoy your holiday.
