I'm looking at switching from sky to VF fibre this month. My sky router is in the home office with my mediaserver but this isn't where my main phone port is. When the engineer sets up my new connection does the router have to be connected to the main phone port?

Yes it has to be Connected to the Master Socket, The Cable if its anyway Decent Twisted Copper Pair (Not the Flat Cheap Nasrt Stuff) for Main Socket to where you have it now in your Office Engineer Will Crimp both ends and us that so you can have Modem in the Office.
