Couple of the lads on the german T4 Forum invited to a day of offroadring in the Fürsten Forrest Offroad Park just after new years and as it was en route on my way back to the ferry, sure ... how could I refuse ?

Here is the Website for the offroad park: http://www.furstenforest.de/ . It's in Germany, right on the border with the Netherlands.

A days offroading in your own vehicle will cost you 42 EUR, half a day 25 EUR. They also rent out the likes of Quads, Hummers, Buggies and Tanks. And I mean real tanks !!

There are different areas, that you can offroad in and various trails throughout the forrest.

Here are a few pictures of the sand pit.

One of the lads beached his T4 here, so I had to tow him out in reverse.

Another one beached. This time on the aux fuel tank, which simply took too much of the ground clearance.

One of the lads brought a Pajero as recovery vehicle, as his '95 T4 only was FWD. But he wanted to see, how far he could get with that.

The fun part was, that it was the Pajero, that got stuck all day, while everyone else made it most of the time.

In the forrest, there are some pretty narrow stretches. I did manage to get through here with the LT. JUST !!

    And the Pajero stuck again.

In the middle of the grounds is a place, where people can BBQ.

This trail is designed for the tanks.

A couple dutch fellas with quads turned up, when we were at the waterhole. We told them, that there are 2 or 3 deep spots, but we didn't precisely know where they are. So they tempted their luck and ... sunk.

This is one of the tanks, the park rents out

Nice job Marlow, I'll be over that direction in August on the way back from Italian Alps, will definitely stop in, looks like a big playground for a Landcruiser!!

Yeah. The grounds are great for a bit of playtime without damaging your car. And plenty of challenges to be found.

Certainly suitable for a novice, but plenty of challenges to be found for more experienced people.

Shame there's nothing much like that here, I'm not interested in bouncing off trees or spending hours winching myself 50ft like most you end up doing on many sites in Ireland!

The forrest that Leinster 4x4 is in is pretty decent for some of the stuff and provides some challenges.

But there certainly was more variation here alright, as it's a purpose build offroad park. The sand pit for example was excellent.
