I have just phoned UPC and have asked to cancel my horizon which I was part of a trial they said it would cost €200 as they automatically entered me into a new 12 month contract while I tested their software I am furious can a UPC rep please PM me as the understanding when we entered this TRIAL was that we would not be entering a new 12 moth contract

Did you sign up when it was in beta stage? It was listed in the terms and conditions that you were taking on a new contract when switching to Horizon.
Pretty sure it says the same still for anyone switching over since the beta ended too.

Yes I was one of the first to get the beta trial way before it went public and a UPC rep stated we would not be entering a new 12 month contract as it was a trial but now when I phoned them earlier they said I was automatically entered into a 12 month contract and they would require €200 cancellation I am furious the horizon box had so many bugs at the start and now I have to pay for testing it for them.

Afraid the UPC rep gave the wrong info.
I remember reading in the Horizon T&Cs for the beta that it counted as a new contract

And youre right, it is buggy as hell

Just received this message so all seems good will update later with the outcome

    Hi Evilbart,

We can confirm that taking part in the trial period in no way affected your contract. Apologies if you were informed otherwise. Please PM UPC: Reps with your account details and we'll investigate now.

    Thanks.

TV advert for Horizon says you can record 4 programmes at once. How is this possible?

Thread in wrong forum, but to answer the question, it has a number of separate tuners to enable multiple recordings.
