    Hi,

In the process of picking up a new car. Have about €5000 or so to spend. There's so much options im going mad. It will be used for city commuting with the odd motorway trip at the weekends. Ideally something cheap enough to run and reliable. Because of my age (23) the biggest sized engine id be looking at would be 1.4. I was thinking along the lines of a 1.4 focus but really am open to any suggestions!

    Thanks in advance

If it is reliability and economy you are after then it's hard to beat a Toyota Corolla.

Is that a dirty great dent on the quarter panel? Hard to tell.

Yeah, hard to tell from the photo. Decent spec on it though.

Mm, seems odd. I wonder what is the story behind that? Replaced boot lid? Might explain if the rear quarter has a dent in it. Shunt from the rear?

Nah, toyota Ireland used to supply the spec badges, the dealers would fit them, that's why you'll often see the spec badges crooked or in random places on the back of the car.
They often put the wrong badge in with the car.

Fair enough. I remember buying a MkII Avensis Luna back in 2003 and it had no Luna badge on the boot. I guess all they had were Aura and Strata ones so didn't bother. Some of them were poorly lined up it was like they were sticking a stamp on an envelope.

I used to stick the badges on every car that came in to our place. Really bugged me if they were wrong.

Anyway, way to go off topic :D

Yea i'd been looking at corollas too. It's hard to know what to go for. I feel a 1.4 would be more economical and cheaper to insure than a larger engined car. Been getting quotes of approx €600 fully comp on a focus which i reckon is pretty good!

You don't understand how many years of annoyance you have just solved for me.
