Lads I have this years project firmly in my sights.
I dont have room for it tho but **** it I'll find room.
Anyway its a replica DK cab.(grail cab but its never going to happen)

Im going to be sticking 100% cosmetically.
I think Ive sourced an orginal bezel, marquee and CP overlay.
Will be going for repo side art, coin door and tmoulding.
I plan on having all the bits before I start,

    Getting to the guts.
Realistically the 60/1 vert pcb is the only option.
    It will be jamma wired.

The next bit is where I need advice.
    I'd like a 20" cga monitor.
I also know the heart ache that goes with them.(too well)
    so
Jamma to scart for a TV or vga off the 60/1 to a PC CRT?

I did a scratch build before years and years ago and it came out OK.
Build quality was excellent but I made loads of mistakes but thats to be expected.

Anyway I have access to a furniture factory and spray shop so the woodwork doesnt bother me.

Watch this space!(for several months :D)

    Any ideas/advice welcome!

I think a polo 21 monitor should be easy enough to pick up if that would do, I bought one for my defender a couple of years back new from hantarex because I couldn't get a decent 20"

Why not go all out on original PCB and loom?

Original screen size was 19" I think so a 21" might be a bit too big to keep the cabinet proportions correct.
Would need to be a low res crt as well, PC monitor might be a bit naff.

Post plenty of pics as you go along.

    Agreed last bandit.
Altho AFAIK theres plenty of space around the monitors for a bigger monitor without changing the outside of the cab.

Monitors are easy to change out tho so Im not too concerned about it at the moment.(i have a 20" polo that needs love in the garage)
Its the cosmetic stuff I'm focused on.I want to get the few bits I need to get started.
    Adding up rapidly tho.

So hard to justify the price of side art!
going to be the best part off 100e alone but I want 100% cosmetic accuracy on this one.

And then the terror that comes with making sure you put it on right - nothing worse than bubbles under a €100 decal

Really looking forward to seeing this come together too.

Water in a spray bottle, with a drop of fairy liquid mixed up, spray it on the sticky side of side art then put it on, use a credit card with a cloth around it to push out the bubbles, like a squeegee (sp?) works everytime. you can reposition the art work because the sticky is wet for a while but it drys perfect.
