A few days ago I somehow managed to throw my 500 into the wash with a load of gear. I was horrified when I came to unload the washing machine and saw it in the drum.
I didn't have any tools at home to open it (it's out of warranty a while now) so I tried to warm it, to clear the misty screen. That helped a bit, but out in the cold it misted up badly again.
I managed to get 3 of the 4 screws out today. They have star heads instead of normal Allen key ones so I struggled a bit as they were tight. Managed to prize open the case enough to mop the screen and leave it in the warm to dry out. All looks good.
It powered up ok and looks good. Have to wait and see what it's like in the cold later on.
I'm quite impressed it survived a 2.5 hour warm wash!

The old cup of rice method comes to mind...when all else fails.
