I'm moving to castlebar and am wondering whats the best broadband to get, I'll b staying in the spencer manor/spencer counrt/spencer street area, I'm used to getting broadband with very good speeds currently have 30mb/s download minimum, given that I was living in dublin/galway for these speeds I understand that the same speed may not be possible in castlebar.
UPC say they don't cover that area for high speed.
From what I can see there is eircom, vodafone and Magnet offer broadband packages with an unlimited limit

    Vodafone - €35/month for up to 70mb (18/24 month contract) or €40/month(12month)
    Magnet - €46.99/month (no contract) + €57.99 conection fee
    Eircom - €35/month for 6months & €50/month after 6 months (18months)

    Any advice
Also with vodafone unless u go 4 the 18 month contract u have 2 buy the router, should I get the vodafone 1 or is their a better 1 for a similar price?

    Thanks

Where you are moving into is within eyesight of the exchange. If you know the address, you can check whats available to that address on the Eircom Networks site. I currently get 14-18mbps on a dsl feed and I'm a similar distance from that exchange. Most of Castlebar has been enabled for efibre. I'm stuck in a contract with Sky at present, so cannot get it until later in the Spring. Of my friends who have it , most are very happy with the service. They are all getting 40-50mbps download speeds. There's very little to choose between Eircom & Vodafone's current tarriffs for efibre, so if you go that route, you will have to do the sums.

    Hope that helps.
