Hi, I'm wondering if there is anyway of getting free banking now as this new charge of €5 per quarter has been introduced even if you have over €3000 in a current account.

    Hi EB_2013,

    Thanks for posting.

The Personal Current Account No Transaction Fee Offer remains in place however the €5 quarterly maintenance fee still applies.

Please see here for information on how to avoid or minimise fees.

    Thanks

    Billy

    Thanks.

It would have been nice to receive some notification before these charges were introduced.

    Hi EB_2013,

    Thanks for posting.

In June 2013 Bank of Ireland notified all Personal Current Account holders that we were launching a new fee structure and the fee options, Pay as You Go and Flat Fee, will no longer be available from the fee quarter starting 19/08/2013. We also issued emails, there was an interrupt message when logging on to 365 Online, a message printed on the bottom of statements, in branch signage and press notifications to advise of this. Information on the new fee structure can be viewed here
