Ford Focus - Dash background light

I have a problem that the background light on the dashboard wont switch off after i lock the car. It just stays on. Its an '08 1.6L
It stays on overnight most times and only very occasionally goes off after a while. Im concerned this might drain the battery if the car isnt driven over a period of a few days?. Would this be a significant drain over a few days?.
Did anyone ever encounter a similar issue?. Would a garage be able to disable it?.0
