Front suspension work needed on 03 Mazda 6 hatchback

    Afternoon all,
The missus mentioned that there's a noise coming from the left front wheel. I took the car for a quick spin and while it performed fine and I didn't hear anything while driving, I did hear a few strange noises from that quarter when reversing at low speed out of the driveway.
Went to get the front brake pads changed this morning and asked the chap to take a look at it. He says that the both front and back arms for the front wheels are loose and need to be replaced. He's quoting €115 for each of the front arms (TC1411) and €215 each for the back (TC1821 and TC1822). Two bushings also needed at €25 each.

Does this sound right or should I get a second opinion?

Was that a quote from a main dealer?

No, Discount Tyres in Blanch. They're right beside my work.

From reading on here about buying tyres they seem to be recommended a lot but it is no harm in getting a quote from an indy garage too just to compare.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with their previous work and price. Have bought tyres and basic service/brake pads from them before. Just interested in a second opinion before dropping €700.

I got 2 front lower control arms for 45 quid each. Stuck em in myself. 2 front rear ones are about what you said. Lot of work in them as the subframe has to be dropped. That's just to buy em, not counting labour..
The cost I described above included fitting. It's not something I could do myself.

Is that Nissan Doctor chap still working around Swords?
