Hey there, I'm a Leaving cert student and I'm quite undecided about my course choices. I have a keen interest in Economics and find it really fascinating.
Originally, I was set on BESS in Trinity, where I would specialise in Economics as my degree in 2nd year. However, now I'm a little bit unsure.
I feel I would be able to achieve either by points requirements, but I must put them in order of preference. I am quite Mathsy and the minor in computer science in NUIM seems intriguing.
Ideally I would get Economics & Finance in UCD but the points (560) are a little out of reach(its still down as no.1). What do you guys think would be the better degree? Is Trinitys reputation in the job market very important? Is BESS more theoretical than quantitative? Whats the prospects of the NUIM degree?

    Thanks

    Hi,

You're best bet for a good reply is to get the mod to bridge this between NUIM, trinity,UCD and DCU forum.

I can tell you that you should not go to NUIM. While it's great Uni the Econs course is weak when compared to that of UCD and NUIG.

From the trinity forum the BESS is boring.

I've looked at the UCD is it's challenging so is the one in Galway.

Terms if employment trinity and UCD ranks well. Internships is readily available to those with good grades.
