I just bought one of these, very nice quality and cheaper than any other garmin out front mount. They are out of stock atm but shouldn't be long till they get more, they are very popular.

I just ordered the Garmin branded one on crc which is plastic...this looks a better bet, pity they are out of stock. Give the board a heads up if they come back

I bought a SRAM outfront mount from a Taiwan seller on eBay. Cost me €13 delivered (by registered post too) I'm assuming it's a copy and was comparing it to a genuine one a friend of mine has and I can find no differences, they're identical so maybe it's not, anyway for €13 you couldn't go wrong. I'm going to buy a second one for my other bike too.

I'm not keen on the SRAM mounts as the mounting plate sits at the same level as the top of the stem/bars, both the garmin and superstar mounts sit below the bars making the screen level with the top.

I thought this too but wasn't prepared to spend thirty quid on it so that's why I was settling for the sram one. Superstar it will be though once they get them in Stock

Contacted superstar yesterday who say it will be another 2 months before they get the mounts in again

I got them from wiggle on sale a while back, came in around €10 with 50% off I think. Find it very good, the reviews on wiggle were also very good !

Poor show, the first lot they had in sold out in days, you'd think they would have the foresight to pre order once the second batch was selling just as quick.

ordered one from the states for 15.99 delivered, no sign of superstar getting them in any time soon and after a bit of research found that the metal holders if they have a metal parts to lock against the garmin itself can cut the tabs off the unit so will stick with a plastic one from sram.

There are a couple on eBay for 12 with free shipping but didn't want to have to wait almost a month for one from taiwan that's why I went with one in the u.s.

Just as an aside, the other pesky part on the Garmin (I have the 500) is the finicky wheel magnet pick up.

Garmin sell it with a couple of cable ties for the pricely sum of about 9 quid (so 10 euro)

I picked up (ahem:p) a generic CatEye one in Wheelworx today for 4 euro-well worth having a few of these spare-the Cateye one is a lot stronger too-the Garmin ones are sh1te.

The superstar one has an entirely plastic holder screwed in exactly the same way the garmin one does, no issues with metal edges, it's a really nice piece of kit.
The one with the metal edges is the K-edge, which is even more expensive than the garmin one!

Definitely a market for someone like Hope or Chris King to make a small fortune if they decided to start making these-they look the bomb...

Or for Superstar to get them back in stock!;)

Superstar really dropped a bollock letting these go out of stock for so long

Just think of the amount of new Garmins bought around Christmas time, and you could go as far as to say they dropped the entire sac..

Good to know. Will look into it at a future date after I've gotten the sram mount if it doesn't work out

Another alternative, not the cheapest, but I really like the clean look it will give. http://www.evanscycles.com/products/k-edge/mtb-stem-mount-for-garmin-edge-fixed-ec063368
