    Primary or Secondary?

    If secondary, which subjects?

    Which county?

Would you not be better off looking at educationposts?

Actually had a look at education posts today and it's very quiet compared to other years. Keep an eye on it though, a day or 2 can make all the difference.

I'd imagine Haddington Rd will kill the casual sub .

Usually all that will arise around now is sick leave and maternity leave. I wouldn't think they're any more or less likely at this time than any other.

The only other thing that ever arises around now in my school is one-on-one tuition for students removed from regular classes due to extreme behavioural issues. These usually amount to 6/7 hours a week and tend to be split between part timers on low hours already in the school.

you will see nothing on educationposts this week because they are already sorted or not yet advertised. Should be some sick leaves and mat leaves and don't forget covering practical and oral examiners.

In fairness didn't 70% of teachers already sign up to S&S before HR? The introduction of the S&S scheme diminished the role of the regular subs and permanent staff were only too happy to take the cheque/potential work. Just HR screwed everyone over now with no pay and no subs.

Of course they took the work, that was their right.
HR has made the subbing situation much worse with the new conditions for leave and the increased s and s periods.
