M50 toll

    Hi all,

I'm an infrequent user of the M50, and I used it on Christmas Day, crossing the toll twice, once at around 6pm and again at around midnight. I completely forgot to make payment the next day and it slipped my mind until a penalty notice arrived today.

The penalty notice received only lists the journey at 6pm, it doesn't include the return journey at midnight. I have logged on to the eflow website and paid the journey that I received the letter for, but nowhere does it note the return journey, and there is nothing listed in the penalties due section. Is there anything I need to do here, or should I wait to see if another letter arrives? I can see that there is an unpaid toll section but the form says to only use this for journeys made yesterday or today, which obviously doesn't apply to my journey at midnight on the 25th/26th. Do they sometimes not register a crossing of the toll?

    Thanks in advance

I would be expecting another letter.

    Phone them?

Call them and have a chat about the first one and see what they say. They aren't too bad to deal with; certainly anytime I called them up they were helpful and pleasant :) You can always ask them to check if you have other charges pending; the odd time they miss readings and you won't be charged while occasionally they may bill for trips you didn't make or trips can be made on fake/cloned plates.

I went through 3 times one day, rang up to pay and there was only 1 toll owed on my reg, nothing ever came of the other 2

Get yourself a video account. I'm an infrequent M50 user too and I find it very useful.

    Hi Sparko,

When you use the M50 journeys can sometimes be delayed coming onto the system, when this happens the letter would be late coming out.

I can investigate the matter for you if you want to private message me your details?

    Kind Regards,

Hi Maureen - how long until you know you are in the clear for a trip? :p

    Also what's the detection rate?

    Hi padser,

Every trip made through the M50 toll is a valid passage and must be paid within the payment deadlines to prevent penalties escalating.

You can pay for your toll journeys in a Payzone store or by contacting the call centre on 1890-50-10-50 (7:00am to 23:00pm, Monday to Sunday).

You can also pay online on our website www.eflow.ie or you can register the vehicle for an account.

    Kind Regards,
    Maureen
