    Hi,
I have tom booked for my wedding in February was just wondering has anybody else used him, I'm not sure what to expect really. The wedding planner from hotel didn't seem to think that I would meet prior to the day, surely we would need to organise the ceremony  or is it a one size fits all kind of job?

I think he meets you, why not drop him an email?

Just FYI his ceremony isn't a civil ceremony, its classed as religious. HSE celebrants perform civil ceremonies and don't perform any run through practices, only the service on the day they'll have approved. Tom Colton operates outside the civil ceremony system.

Thanks for the information lazy gal, but I guess you knew what I meant. No need to make me look like I didn't know what kind of ceremony I was having

we used him. As did a number of our family members.

He sent us an email with all the options and choices we could have. we designed our own service based on the template he sent us.

we then met up with him a few weeks before the wedding and we ran through what we wanted. he made some suggestions to what we wanted.

    Best of luck with everything

We had Miriam, who works alongside Tom, as the solemniser at our wedding.

We exchanged a few emails about the ideas we had for the ceremony and then met up for a chat about a month before our wedding day regarding the ceremony details. She was wonderful to deal with, very knowledgeable and a genuinely lovely person. After the meeting, she drafted up a ceremony outline for us to approve and we went from there. I've heard Tom is also meant to be great to deal with.

Why not give him a call and see when suits you all to meet up?

Best of luck with all the planning and congrats! :)

same experience as the above. Mailed back and forth with ideas and ceremony structure. Arranged to have 1 meeting beforehand to discuss what we wanted, number of readings etc.... Then he forwarded our sample ceremony based on our discussion.
It is a kinda one size fits all, or rather, a few pieces that can be put together in a manner chosen by you.
