    Any thoughts on these?

My BIL is on for buying one from a mates mother. Personally I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole but I'm interested to hear from anyone who knows about them.

Always thought they were a nice motor, not bulky like the q7,touareg etc and I assume reliable.

Id like to think I could find better things to do with a 3l+ petrol engine and €1800 tax, but each to their own I guess!

i have an 04 RX300 and they are a great car, expensive to run however as tax on mine is 1400 and need to put about €50 of petrol in a week. however on a trade-in im only being offered about €4K so its worth more to me to keep it running than to suffer the deprecaition on something newer, smaller with a lot less comfort.
For me, it basically works out about the same of better to keep the RX on the road in terms of the overall costs. but for that you get a bigger car, thats very practical and comfortable.
Mine has never given any trouble, they are very smooth on the road, dsont tire you out on a long run, have plenty of power, great ride height and incredibly relaiable, plus usually pretty exec spec, with leather, electrics, heated seats etc etc.........thats my view anyhow.
