I'm here in the leaba with no real will to get up. It's not that I had a mad night last night (although it was a bit of fun) I'm just in a meh mood and today is a duvet day.

Any other AHers spending New Years Day in bed?

I've removed myself from the couch twice today , once to go to the toilet and again to bring in the cheese&biscuit platter I splashed out on yesterday

Have being trying to the the other half to do this today but she insisted and dragged me down to her parents house for dinner. Asked me to go out drinking and when I said no it turned into a argument. All I want to do is chill and I'm made feel bad for it

I just realised the time... I woke up at 3pm and have spent the last 2 hours in bed watching crap on YouTub.
I have a headache from dehydration and am starving.
It's not a hangover as I didn't drink last night... I just really needed the sleep after a very busy sleep deprived Christmas...

Having finally gotten my sons out of my room at 7 this morning after hours of discussions and banter, I woke at 11 and got up and cleaned up from last night, visited with my parents, made my sons some brunch and have retreated to my bed with the laptop with the intention of watching a movie or doing some college work but due to tiredness am just about functioning on a level suitable for social media so have done neither in the past 2 hours.

Think I will have a wee snooze and then get up and make dinner for my boys.

Edit: They have decided they want pizza. Yippeee I can relax!

I wish, only got to sleep around 4am and it was too noisy to stay in bed past 10. Getting dragged out for a long dinner is no fun either.

Still in bed. I'll get up later to eat a take away. Then back to bed.

Looks like I'm not the only one. It's comfy here in bed and
I have a good book to read. I'll drag myself out of the sack for dinner later but right now I'm happy to be cocooned in my bed.

Or am I just a lazy, feckless slob?

Cannot move off the couch , stupid hangover :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 286 ✭✭fathead82

I didnt get up until 1pm,left the house to smoke & feed the hens, back on couch since.Watching power rangers & getting the head smacked off me by a 4 year old, havnt the energy to do anything about it.
On the bright side, children are handy for sending on missions to the kitchen to refill my cup of water.

Have only really moved from the bed to get food, and something out of the car.

Currently in a pair of Lounge Bottoms and a hoodie.

Didnt wake up til 11, watched Star Trek Into Darkness while eating breakfast with the intention of studying afterwards. 7 hours later, and Im still in bed, not a book opened. Though I did go down to Tesco with the intention of getting something for the dinner, only to find they are shut. Noodles it is then, or perhaps beans on toast. So tempted to phone for a take away which I have never done in my life.
Either way Im still in bed. I will be getting up to watch Sherlock later though.

I wish I could have at least one duvet day a week. that would be nice.

Spent the day on the couch in my PJs. Satisfied that I got out of bed before 12.

Yep!! Was out earlier but then came home and have barely left the couch. Fire lit. Tunes in the background. Yum.

It's my last day of the holidays - taking full advantage!! :D

Had a few glasses of whiskey and went to bed at 3pm. Stared out the window for 2 and half hours watching darkness set in.

Went to sleep at about 2:30 last night, didn't go out or anything, just flicking around google (no, nothing dirty!). Was dragged from my sleep about 7:45. Mid week routine is strict here. We are all up and dressed by 8am eating breakfast. New Years, even Xmas, means nothing to our routine here. Haven't left the house today though, that's the first time I have stayed in all day for about 5 months, it was nice for a change.

No worse, a mother of two, one of which is a 4yo who doesn't care if you are tired and wakes you up every morning without fail at 7:30, the other is a 5 month old with a good routine. I forget what a sleep in is!

No joke I have just woken up, I must of slept for 14 hours. I have no regrets. I feel great.

Got to bed at 3am got up at almost 3pm..nearly died when I saw the time..been yonks since I've slept like that.

Thankfully no hangover so walked the dog, had tea in a friends, had a bite to eat and was back in the leaba by 7.30pm with a plan to watch a movie but I'm still just surfing around,

Glad I'm not the only lazy fecker out there :D

Yeah a big lazy day for me. Got back at 4 am last night and slept till 2.30. Spent the next few hours lounging around in my PJ's checking boards and listening to my team getting beaten. Popped down to the Ma's for an hour to say hello and now I'm just back from a 45 minute walk. I have absolutely no idea what time I'm going to get to sleep tonight. Think I'll pop a sleeping pill. I hate still being awake when the birds start singing.

Didn't get in too late last night, around 5 I'd say. Woke up at 12 today and watched Up followed by Uncle Buck, Big and Home Alone 2. Barely left the bed all day, ate Haribo for lunch and Domino's for dinner.

Successful New Year's Day in my book :)

I stayed in bed till 4.30pm. Usually find it impossible to sleep in after like, 10!

    Mad night though.. :pac:

I could have happily spent the day in the leaba but I was roused by my number one nephew at 12:30 and was out doing a charity walk for Pieta House by 1pm.

5 miles later I went home and had a lovely shower then ate my new favourite thing. An Aldi bean-burger AND a nut cutlet in a burger bun with warm hummus and warm jalapeno relish.

    Droooooool.

Had to work at 5 and won't be finished until midnight then I shall be nose-diving into that bed with a view to a 9-12 hr sleep :)

got to sleep at 6 this morning, woke at 3, sat in front of Tv and had dinner delivered about 7, ate, ate and ate some more. That's it for chocolate log, turkey, ham and general vast quantities of food for this year, but damn it was all so good...

Couldn't fall asleep easily last night so spent the night reading. Dozed for a few hours and decided 'feck this' and spent the day in bed bar a 15 min trip to the shop for pizza which I ate in bed :)

Probably won't have another day like this for a long while so am enjoying the **** out of it.

My hangover was so bad today that it was the closest I came to crying from one.

Alternating between running to the toilet and wanting to puke.

No sympathy but payback is a bitch muther****ers.

Had a house full of guests yesterday but today is duvet day and I was starting to feel guilty until I read this thread, so thank u, we all need a day doing feck all. Am watching game of thrones and eating popcorn

Haha this thread I can relate to!

I got up a couple times yesterday to get water and use the bathroom. Slept until 10pm before I ordered Four Star Pizza. Got up to collect it and brought it back to bed.

Tried to fall asleep by half 12 as I was back in work today; could not drift off. Ended up with only 2/3 hours. Was surprisingly not too tired but was rough enough getting up!

Don't know why people feel guilty staying in bed
all day, it's you're life do what you feel, don't mind society judging you!

Not even a sniff of guilt here. I feel lucky that I'm in a position to use my time as I see fit and don't have others depending on me.
