Advice re; entitlement to permanency?

My husband has been employed on temporary 12 month contracts for 3 years now and will be heading into his 4th year at the end of January this year. Is he automatically entitled to permanent employment status? I have tried to research this but to be honest I need it explained to me in lay mans terms! Thanks in advance

i don't know 100% but i think there is legislation there for 4 years, so when he finishes his 4th year he would be entitled to permanancy if they wished to keep him on.

Ok so he needs to complete another full year of employment on a temporary contract yes?
