    Hi all,

I want to get a hotel voucher for my parents so they can enjoy a stay in Derry. They are getting on a bit, and will not be driving, so it would need to be central but not a stag/hen magnet! Any advice welcome. A pool would be nice but not a must!

They also love live music so any advice on venues/pubs is also welcome.

    Thank you.

City Hotel? most rooms with outside windows will be overlooking the river so decent views, within walking distance of pretty much everywhere and don't think they cater to stags/hens so they shouldn't have any noise complaints. The website says they have a swimming pool, never been so no idea how good it is though. What kind of live music? check out the Millennium Forum website for upcoming gigs.

City or Tower Hotel are both good central hotels, City is probably nicer.

Paedar O'Donnells, on Waterloo Street, does trad music every night, next door is the Gweedore which would have more lively music on most nights.

Thank you all. Great recommendations! I love Derry, but have only been on day trips. Looking forward to sending them Northward!

Sandino's bar just off Foyle Street have a trad session every Sunday afternoon.

Not 100% sure of the time, think its around 3 - 5pm or something.

The pool in the City Hotel isn't big, maybe 10m long, ample enough for a wee dip though.
